Bookings, Prices and Contact
First of all, get in touch for a chat (absolutely no obligation) to see if I can offer what you might be looking for.
I have no fixed calendar, except that between mid-June and mid-September I will probably be in the Alps.
During the winter season I’m currently in Scotland from late January until mid-March.
Outside of these dates I’m happy to schedule guiding around climbing trips, work etc.
For a booking I’ll send you a booking form, which will require a deposit and agreement with terms and conditions (these are in line with industry norms). Anything a bit last-minute we’ll discuss at the time!
I work on a flat daily rate depending on the activity and base location, regardless of number of clients. I will always work within recognised guide/client ratios. For most climbing this will be a max of 2 clients, although many alpine routes of AD standard and above this will probably be guiding 1 client. In Europe these ratios are often set for certain routes (i.e. Hornli Ridge), and otherwise at my discretion.
This cost includes: guiding/instruction, communal safety equipment, reasonable local transport.
This cost doesn’t include: travel beyond locally based activities, overnight accommodation (huts or otherwise away from North Wales or Chamonix), any uplift, personal climbing gear for you, or your insurance requirements .
Certain unusual routes or bigger objectives may require a supplement to these prices.
Any activities not fitting the above criteria I’ll quote for upon initial contact. For example: climbing elsewhere, trips more than 5/6 days, alpine based rock or ice-fall climbing.
